The Mathieu family has lived in Avirey-Lingey since at least the 18th century. They go to great lengths to harvest grapes at optimum ripeness.

In the winery they try to obtain as much personality and flavour from these grapes, which involves a light hand in vinification and careful thinking.

What results are showstopping authentic champagnes that are true expressions of what the region is renowned for.

Serge Mathieu 2009 Brut Millesime

$124.99
It has structure, power and length, and bears the mark of its Pinot Noir. It clearly shows all the work that has been carried out in the vineyards since only very ripe and small grapes can produce such density and structure in a Champagne. 8.6 grams dosage. Entirely made from Pinot Noir… clear, fresh and straight fruit of yellow skinned apples and Williams pears along with citrus flavors and some stony notes on the nose. This is remarkably elegant and delicate with a mineral backbone and an excellent grippy finish.

Serge Mathieu Tete De Cuvee Brut

$109.99
80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir The maison’s grand cuvée. During the harvest, the finest grapes from the top vineyard sites are selected and only the first press juice is used. It is generous and harmonious, with fine, delicate citrus notes on the palate.

Serge Mathieu Brut Rose

$99.99
90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay Full-bodied and fresh. Clear-cut and savoury aromas of strawberries and pomegranates. Dark berries nad toast on the palate. Firm mousse and tiny bubbles, it’s rich on the palate with a light and delightful red fruit taste.

Serge Mathieu Brut Prestige

$89.99
70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay There’s an intensity to this firm Champagne, with structuring notes of white peach, pear and lime, stony mineral notes and a hint of beeswax. Vivacious, with a chalky sensation on the finish. An incredible value!
