Merlot forms eighty percent of the blend, with Cabernet Franc accounting for the remainder. Blackcurrant, raspberry, sour cherry and cassis compote meet Bulgarian rose, roasted nut, black pepper and cocoa. The wine is round and balanced, with ripe fruit, soft tannins and a generous texture. Its Fronsac vineyards lie on clay-limestone and fossil-bearing soils in Bordeaux, France.
