d’Arenberg is in the 120 top value Australian wines!
USA’s Wine Spectator has named their 120 Top Value Australian Wines and 6 are d’Arenberg wines which accounts for 5% of the total wines listed.
Multiple vintages of ‘d’Arry’s Original’ Shiraz Grenache and ‘The Footbolt’ Shiraz were included as well ‘The Stump Jump Red’ and ‘The Custodian’ Grenache.
#49 d’Arenberg The Custodian Grenache 2007, McLaren Vale 89 Points Issue: 15 Oct 2009 Light and crisp, with a gentle buzz of tannins around red berry and guava flavors, lingering on the focused, vibrant finish. Drink now through 2013. 1,000 cases imported. –HS
#50 d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2006, McLaren Vale 89 Points Issue: 31 May 2009 Firm, with an intriguing overtone of violet to the dark berry and cherry fruit. There's a layer of grippy tannins, but the fruit wins out on the finish. Best from 2010 through 2014. 12,000 cases im-ported. –HS
